Sonnax heavy duty forward/direct spring retainer 34554-12 is ideal for GM TH400 performance applications when stronger release springs are used. OE late-model retainers are lighter duty at only .042″ thick and will deform when used with stronger springs. The stronger Sonnax retainer is .058″ thick and features one additional snap ring retaining notch to prevent snap rings from detaching at high RPM.
